Raul met his wife, Joana when she was doing an internship at the same company where he worked at. He knew she was the one the first moment he laid his eyes on her. He loves her accent and how she smiles. Needless to say, he immediately fell in love with her. When Joana first saw him, she thought he was a Filipino. Although they come from different backgrounds and have some different interests, they share the same values. He has a big heart and very down-to-earth. He always put others before himself. She knew he was the one when she felt a spark the first time they hold hands.
The biggest challenge they had to face together was being away from each other for 8 months while her green card was being issued. They kept in touch by communicating on a daily basis, spending almost all of their time on Skype. He flew to the Philippines three times to visit her and both knew they wanted to be together no matter what.
Finally, on September 9, 2017, Raul and Joana were married at Sts. Peter and Paul Parish in Bauang, La Union- a sweet, intimate day spent with their closest loved ones and friends.
